about us      In the year of our Lord, 1932, a small group organized a Bible Class. They were Rev. B. D. Howard and family, Rev. J. H. Alphabet and family and Brother J. H. White and family. The group went from home to home holding a meeting each week and Sunday School every Sunday.

On March 29, 1932, Sister Louise White brought to the class the need for a church in the community. The members agreed a church was a vital necessity and J. H. White and Rev. J. H. Alphabet expressed themselves by endorsing the suggestion. Rev. B. D. Howard stated the importance of making the decision to organize and emphasized the fact that such a move would mean sacrifice and determination to see it through. Out of the meeting, came a solemn resolve to establish a church in the community, now known as Dixie Hills.

On September 18, 1932, a presbytery was called for the purpose of organizing a Missionary Baptist Church. The presbytery was composed of the following persons: Rev. P. J. Steels, Rev. R. R. King, Rev. C. H. Patterson, Deacon F. Harris and Deacon Ben Walton.
